"(with visual arts) you have some really cool, wonderful striking images that make you think and then again you have wonderful striking images that just take you away from the existing world for a second. And I like the latter a bit more." - Ville Valo
Heather's work is a visual flavor of life that I'd like to live in. It's nostalgia, warmth, and joy. It's colorful, confident, and full of treats (gummy bears anyone?).
Heather and I collaborated on a fun little Q&A that explored the work and experiences that shaped her as an artist. I provided the Qs, she provided the As, and creative AI tools provided the mixing bowl. Have a listen via the PRD Radio Snack media player below the photo.
You can also learn more about Heather's background + explore her work in this week's PRD Spotlight Gallery.

First, it’s important to note that I stumbled across this video on YouTube's main page and watched the whole thing before reading the video description.
Only then did I realize that the band as a whole hadn’t ever played together before this gig (apparently they'd been organized by Post's “people” specifically for the gig - according to the YT video notes). And here’s why that’s relevant...
I loved this performance. It’s everything I’d hope for with this type of intimate format - plus the set list is end-to-end chart toppers. But more than that, the band behind Post - literally and figuratively - take the whole thing to 11. The visual layer of the experience (i.e. seeing the joy, the excitement, how each artist reacts to each other as the songs unfold) elevates the whole thing to something special imo.
Since watching it last week I've dug around and there seems to be plenty of hot takes on the performance. However, as solid as Post's stripped down performance of his platinum tracks was, I'm here for the band on this one - who absolutely crushed it.
Watch the video + peruse my favorite pieces from the performance in this week's PRD Sharing feature.
I came across Chris's art on Instagram and was immediately hooked.
A deeper dive into his work revealed a hardworking creative with projects all over the interwebs.
From his interactive and dynamic art gallery - Code Palette - where he "merges technology, math, and art together", to his Bored in Math Class project/store that's "all about exploring grids", to his mesmerizing generative visuals that he puts out as @code_rgb on Instagram...I'm all in.
Explore Chris's work further in this week's Showcase gallery.
"I felt I really wanted to back off from music completely and just work within the visual arts in some way.
I started painting quite passionately at that time.." - David Bowie
